Accounts Assistant / Senior – Plymouth

We are currently looking for an Accounts Assistant / Senior to join an Accountancy Practice based in Plymouth, Devon.

As an Accounts Assistant / Senior you will provide a range of Accountancy and Tax related services to both new and established clients.

Our client is looking for someone who is AAT Level 3 or 4 qualified.

As an Accounts Assistant / Senior your main responsibilities will be bookkeeping, accounts preparation and tax returns, but you will also be:

  • Preparing accounts for incorporated and un-incorporated businesses, including partnerships/ LLPs, sole traders and OMBs
  • Preparing individual, business and company tax computations and returns
  • Handling written, telephone and email queries from clients
  • Dealing with clients on a regular basis, occasionally from the clients premises.

Experience needed for the Accounts Assistant / Senior role:

  • Applicants will ideally be fully AAT qualified but part-qualified candidates will be considered
  • Previous experience in accounts preparation for partnerships/ LLPs and limited companies
  • Applicants should be accurate, analytical and methodical in their approach to work
  • Able to work independently and demonstrate initiative in delivering an excellent service to clients
  • Able to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Confident, professional and team orientated in approach
  • Proficient in MS Office 2007 (ie. Excel, Word, Outlook) and Sage
  • Experience of electronic accounting packages
  • Familiarisation with personal and business tax regulations, plus VAT and PAYE and solicitors accounts rules (SAR) an advantage.
