Chemical Production Technician – Near Salisbury  
 
We are looking for a Chemical Production Technician for our client who is based near Salisbury - this is very much a lab / warehouse based role, mixing batch recipes ensuring goods are prepared in line with SLA's and safety procedures.
To carry out production duties, working flexibly, and maintaining the highest possible skill and productivity levels in all areas of production. Assist the Production Supervisor with daily operations, particularly to Liquid Reference Standards production and calibration. To carry out QC testing and maintain QC records. To train others to achieve high competency levels.
Key Performance Indicators
  • Assist the Production Supervisor to ensure work meets health and safety requirements, is done on time and to required quality standards
  • Work efficiently, safely and speedily in all production areas, to ensure production requirements and projects are met and to meet customer needs quickly and accurately
  • Ensure all work is done to correct quality standards, completed on time and without error, and with the minimum of supervision and monitoring
  • Work flexibly and to the highest standards of performance in all areas, as required by the needs of customers and production management
  • Maintain accurate records for stock control, QC testing and production monitoring purposes
  • Carry out other warehouse and production duties
Qualifications
  • GCSE qualifications in English and Maths (or equivalent)                                              
  • Valid driving licence                
  • GCSE (or equivalent) sciences C or above - essential                                                                          
  • Chemistry qualification at ‘A’ level (or equivalent)  - desirable                                                                                                           
Skills and Experience
  • Using computer systems including MS office products and email                           
  • Good time management                                                                                       
  • Written and oral communication skills                                                                  
  • Able to plan in advance to suit production needs                                                   
  • Strong written and oral communication skills                                        
  • Production experience in a chemical environment                                                
  • Good practical skills (chemical laboratory)                                                           
  • Team worker                                                                                                       
  • Good at working with hands, dextrous                                                                  
  • Able to establish and maintain good working relationships with colleagues              
  • Numeracy and literacy skills appropriate to post                                                    
  • To have knowledge of handling and the packaging of Hazardous Goods 
  • Have a good knowledge of warehouse procedures
