Engineering Manager

Our client in Southampton is looking to recruit an experienced Engineering Manager or Engineer looking to progress in to a Supervisor/Management position. 

You will partake in a 2 shift pattern, including alternative weekends and will receive a salary circa 40k per annum. 

Core Purpose of Job:

  • To manage / coordinate the operational and maintenance needs of Southampton manufacturing site to agreed standards.
  • To ensure adequate Engineering cover for Southampton manufacturing site.
  • To attend Factory Assimilation Tests as required by projects.

Areas of Responsibility;

  1. Execute all plan maintenance and equipment calibration meeting the demands of Processing and Manufacturer end users.
  2. Develop working practices that ensure a safety conscious culture.
  3.  Ensure compliance to Quality Procedure within the Engineering function.
  4. Participate   in daily meetings.
  5. Develop skill index and ensure fulfilment of skill gaps.

Success Indicators;

  • P.M. backlog does not exceed agreed parameters.
  • Availability of services to end user meets agreed parameters.
  • Achievement of Health Safety Targets
  • Quality standards are met
  • Attendance daily meeting
  • Cent percent skill index availability.

Responsibilities;

  • Review P.M. activities
  • Continual review of Staff skills
  • Coordinate the liaise with other managers, ensuring all relevant information is communicated efficiently and effectively.
  • Direct multi skilled work force to achieve timely completion of tasks, while controlling overtime to agreed expenditure.
  • Conduct Risk Assessments.
  • Authorize Permit to Work.
  • Liaise with Planning for required shut downs.
  • Highlight critical control areas and give recommendations for continual improvements.
  • Conduct training on process control software / hardware.
  • Diagnose and correct program faults as required.
  • Participate in project commissioning as required.

 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Attitude

  • Knowledge of all aspects of process control software, hardware and network systems.
  • Preparation of shift reports daily / weekly / monthly.
  • Recognition of Technical skills required within the Automation section.
  • Contact bottle filling and packing equipment.
  • Give guidance and advice to all Team members the Coaching & Mentoring.
