Engineering Supervisor

An immediate opportunity is now available for an Engineering Supervisor to join a company in Southampton, Hampshire.

This is a permanent position and you will be managing and co-ordinating the operational and maintenance needs of the site.

As an Engineering Supervisor you will be:

  • Review P.M. activities; make recommendation to Engineer Manger regarding spare parts requirements/ modifications to P.M. Procedures.
  • Continual review of Staff skills, making recommendations to Engineer Manager regarding training needs.
  • Coordinate the liaise with other managers, ensuring all relevant information is communicated efficiently and effectively.
  • Direct multi skilled work force to achieve timely completion of tasks, while controlling overtime to agreed expenditure.
  • Conduct Risk Assessments.
  • Authorize Permit to Work.
  • Liaise with Planning for required shut downs.
  • Highlight critical control areas and give recommendations for continual improvements.
  • Conduct training on process control software / hardware.
  • Diagnose and correct program faults as required.
  • Deputise for Engineer Manager during vacation etc.
  • Participate in project commissioning as required.

Qualifications:

Essential

  • Minimal Diploma in Engineering with Electrical / Electronic Discipline.

Or

  • Graduate in Engineering with Electrical/Electronic discipline
  • Training / Certification in SCADA control systems.
  • Training / Certification for PLC.

Desirable

  • Health & Safety Certification.

Experience:

Essential responsibilities

  • Experience in similar role in a leading a maintenance team within Engineering (process control / PLC / packaging equipment.

Desirable responsibilities

  • Knowledge of Planned Preventive system.
  • Experiences with health & Safety to conduct Risk Assessment / Authorise Permit to Work.

Knowledge, Skills and Attitude

               Technical

  • Knowledge of all aspects of process control software, hardware and network systems.
  • Preparation of shift reports daily / weekly / monthly.
  • Recognition of Technical skills required within the Automation section.
  • Contact bottle filling and packing equipment.
  • Give guidance and advice to all Team members the Coaching & Mentoring.
