Field-based Alarm Engineer – Southampton, Hampshire

Our client based in Southampton are looking for an Alarm Engineer to join their team on a permanent full-time basis.

As an Alarm Engineer, you will need experience of installation through commissioning, handover, programming causes and effects, marking up plans and diagrams, interfacing with allied systems.  

You will need to be self-motivated, organised and an effective communicator when on site with customers.

A driving licence is essential for this role!

Duties for the Alarm Engineer include:

  • Install new and extend existing security, CCTV & Access/Entry Systems (optional; some fire systems) – FIRE TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED
  • Commission and handover systems to customers and their representatives
  • Manage your own, and those working on your project/in your team, work activity and productivity to deliver on-time projects to the highest standards
  • Repair and fault-find on existing installations to return their operation to normal
  • Communicate accurately and honestly with your line manager
  • Provide telephone support and technical assistance to fellow engineers and customers when required
  • Bring ideas, solutions and suggestions that will be welcomed and adopted where possible

This is a full time, permanent role that offers a competitive salary depending on experience plus standby, call out and overtime as extra. You will also receive a vehicle (typically a van), laptop or tablet, mobile phone and specialist tools such as meters and crimpers.
