HR ADVISOR – PART TIME (PERMANENT CONTRACT), Salisbury

We have a HR Advisor role available with our client who are based in the centre of Salisbury. Our client is looking for someone on a part time basis (2.5 days a week/17.5 hours a week). As a HR Advisor you will deliver an effective HR service ensuring HR policies, processes and procedures are implemented consistently by providing support to managers in their daily HR activities. This role is offering £30,000 pro rata and a permanent contract.

In this HR Advisor position, your duties and responsibilities will include…

  • Monitor, review and update HR policies in conjunction with the HR Consultant;
  • Manage all recruitment campaigns, with the assistance of the HR Assistant, ensuring appropriate liaison with the relevant managers and agency contacts;
  • Provide generalist HR advice, guidance and support to all staff;
  • Provide HR support to line managers on staff disciplinary, capability and grievance matters (escalating more complex issues to the HR Consultant);
  • Carry out new staff inductions;
  • Monitor sickness trends, ensuring remedial action is taken in accordance with our client’s policy and that a proactive approach to absence management is facilitated in order to ensure a smooth return to work (escalating more complex issues to the HR Consultant);
  • Ensure effective communication strategies are in place to achieve good employee engagement;
  • Ensure health, safety and welfare policies and procedures are effectively implemented, in conjunction with the HR Consultant and PA;
  • Line manage the HR assistant;
  • Undertake any other such duties as may be required by SMT.

 

So, what experience is needed to join this successful team?

  • A general level of education at degree or professional level, or the equivalent level of attainment gained through professional experience. 
  • Human Resource qualified including associate membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD)
  • A sound understanding of the principles of good HR practice and some knowledge of employment law 
  • A demonstrable record of success in previous roles 
  • A working knowledge of computerised HR systems 
  • Organisational and administrative skills  
  • Personable with strong communication and relationship building capabilities across all levels of the business
  • Driven and determined
  • Practical and logical; able to solve problems quickly
  • Able to work under pressure, to prioritise workload and to meet deadlines

Desirable:

  • Experience of advising and working with senior members of staff
  • Willingness to train for advancement to a higher level
  • Ability to see gaps or weaknesses in current systems and work to correct and improve these
