Logistics Manager

Are you an experienced logistics professional with a proven track record in managing the incoming and outgoing shipment of products, components and raw materials. These shipments will include dangerous goods across air, sea, and land transportation world wide? You will be responsible for the preparation of all relevant documentation and ensuring compliance with all customs and export rules and applicable laws.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies for the transportation of all goods including dangerous goods via air, sea, and land, ensuring compliance with national and international regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (supply chain, operations, compliance) to coordinate the movement of goods, optimize routes, and minimise transit times.
  • Manage relationships with third-party carriers, freight forwarders, and customs agencies to ensure timely delivery and clearance of all goods.
  • Provide expert guidance on packaging, labelling, and documentation requirements for different modes of transportation.
  • Conduct risk assessments and create contingency plans to mitigate potential hazards during transportation.
  • Monitor transportation processes to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Stay up-to-date with changing regulations and industry best practices related to all goods including dangerous goods transportation.

Working within the supply chain team this role will have 1 direct report.

The ideal person will have

  • Experience of working in a similar role at a similar level of responsibility
  • Ideally have the following qualifications C.I.L.T Level 5 Diploma in Logistics and Transport (or above) or I.O.E. Level 4 "Customs Practitioner" (or above)
  • Demonstrate the ability to problem solve and implement process improvements
  • Strong Microsoft 365 knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
