Job Purpose:

The role of the Production Planner is to strategically plan, develop, and maintain comprehensive schedules for our clients organisation, ensuring optimal resource and inventories utilisation, allocation, efficient workflow, and timely project delivery. You will play a pivotal role in synchronising various functions and departments, coordinating activities, and facilitating effective communication to drive operational excellence. Through meticulous analysis, forecasting, reviewing of system master data, and continuous improvement initiatives, you will help streamline processes, enhance productivity, and support the achievement of our organisational goals. Your dedication to maintaining accurate schedules, item master data, mitigating risks, and adapting to changing priorities will enable us to meet customer demands, maximise efficiency, and foster a culture of success and innovation.

Main Duties:

  • Generating the weekly production schedule for the various production areas of the business through the use of systems MRP planning tools.
  • Coordinating with the production management team to ensure that the required resources are available to meet the production schedule requirements.
  • Coordinating with the purchasing team to ensure that the required materials are available to meet the production schedule requirements.
  • Analysing production data to drive efficiency changes in the production planning and scheduling.
  • Supporting and identifying continuous improvements within the production scheduling activities.
  • Maintaining the ERP system's item master data (IMD) and bill of materials (BOM) structures to ensure these are current and accurate to support an efficiently operating MRP scenario within the ERP system.

They must possess strong analytical, communication, and organisational skills, along with proficiency in utilising scheduling tools and ERP systems.
